***This gown was made using a period correct 18th C. reproduction gown pattern, not a modern pattern so wearing with an appropriate set of stays or at minimum a modern corset is necessary to get the right fit and look. This is a reproduction garment correct for 1700's. NOTE: We have included a size range of 12-14 because of adjustments of size that can be made to the stomacher and the drawstring fitting of petticoat. Made for woman 5'6 and about 160# . Gown was made for our period wedding at Fort Ticonderoga. Includes:
---Gown with stomacher
. Beautiful fashion fabric ruching, with added gold loop lace all over gown. Modern lace at sleeve cuff and neckline can be easily removed if desired, but looks nice as is! A note about the stomacher (while not period correct, the stomacher buttons in place on both sides hidden under the robing in front making it easy to get set it in right and easily and makes it quite adjustable by moving the buttons in or out as needed to size) Gown Measurements: Bust 38", 15" across top of pleated back at top of shoulder blade, upper arms are 16" circumference, center back from neckline to bottom of center pleat is 18 1/2". underarm to hip (bottom of bodice at side) is 8".
---Matching Petticoat has rows of ruching and trim on center front.
Drawstring waist set into a finished waistband, pocket slits, 30" waist, adjustable. Hemmed to be worn with panniers or pocket hoop is 37" at center front.
---included as a BONUS are a pair of modern fabric (Nine West) shoes
which have been made to look more period out of the gown's silk fashion fabric & trim to give a look of 18th c. style. There is some water staining on shoes. Matching shoes were common for such a fancy silk gown. Shoes are size 8 *gown on mannequin is wearing pocket hoop- which is not included. Some sewing is by machine, all other finishing is done by hand where it matters most, enlarge photos to see fine details. Beautifully made. NON SMOKING household. Worn 3 or 4 times.
